Funding
The Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation Coldwater Trust was established to create lasting benefits for our members, our community, and future generations. Through careful investment and stewardship of Trust assets, funding is made available to support projects and initiatives that help strengthen our Nation.
Each year, members, organizations, and community groups are invited to submit proposals for projects that align with the purposes of the Trust and provide meaningful benefits to the community.
What Types of Projects Can Be Funded?
Funding may be available for projects that support:
- Education and training
- Health and wellness
- Culture, language, and heritage
- Economic development and employment
- Housing initiatives
- Community infrastructure and facilities
- Youth, Elder, and family programs
- Community planning and governance initiatives
The strongest applications clearly demonstrate how the project will benefit Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation members and contribute to the long-term well-being of the community.
How the Funding Process Works
1. Call for Proposals
When funding becomes available, the Trust announces a Call for Proposals. Application forms, guidelines, and deadlines are posted on the Trust website and shared with the community.
2. Submit an Application
Applicants provide information about their project, including its purpose, expected outcomes, budget, and timeline. Applications should explain how the project aligns with the objectives of the Trust and benefits the community.
3. Review and Evaluation
Trustees review all submissions to ensure they meet eligibility requirements and support the purposes outlined in the Trust Agreement. Projects are evaluated based on their community impact, feasibility, budget, and long-term value.
4. Funding Approval
Successful applicants are notified and enter into a funding agreement that outlines project expectations, reporting requirements, and funding terms.
5. Project Delivery and Reporting
Recipients carry out their approved projects and provide updates and final reports demonstrating how Trust funding was used and what outcomes were achieved.
Building a Stronger Future Together
The Coldwater Trust is an investment in the future of Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation.
