We are pleased to announce the launch of the new website for the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation Coldwater Trust.
The new website has been created to provide members with easier access to important information about the Trust, including funding opportunities, annual reports and AGM materials, trustee information, historical background on the Coldwater-Narrows claim settlement, and ongoing community initiatives supported through the Trust.
The Coldwater-Narrows claim stems from events dating back more than 170 years involving the alleged improper surrender and sale of reserve lands located along the historic Coldwater-Narrows route in Ontario. The settlement and creation of the Trust represent an important step in supporting present and future generations of the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation.
The redesigned website features:
- Improved navigation and mobile-friendly access
- Easier access to Trust applications and funding information
- AGM presentations and operational updates
- Information about trustees and governance
- Historical resources related to the Coldwater-Narrows claim
- Community news and announcements
The website also highlights projects and initiatives funded through the Trust, including language revitalization, community wellness, cultural programming, education, and sustainability initiatives.
Community members are encouraged to explore the new website and check back regularly for updates, announcements, and future funding opportunities.
